Epilogue
Warm sunshine causes my skin to tingle and I tip my head back, smiling, taking in this moment of peace before facing the next hurdle. A familiar current of anxiety flows beneath my calm, yet I am not afraid…
Life is just the winding, bumpy road from birth to deliverance. I wade through each day with hope and excitement for the journey’s end. I stumble and fear, but I can’t shake that mustard seed of confidence planted deep in my soul.
The bright, soulful voice of a harmonica sings through the quiet in the distance. As it moves in my direction, I wait, and once it’s reached the forest’s edge behind me my eyes snap open. Turning curiously, I take in a bright-eyed, wrinkled face.
“Morgan Travers?”
“Yes?”
“I’m the Storyteller and I have a story to share with you, if you’d care to listen?”
“What’s it about?” I frown, my brows pulled down despite my curiosity at this road-worn stranger.
“It’s about walking shadows, racing beneath an angry sun…”
Acknowledgments
The journey of the Walking Shadows began in a thirteen-hour car ride in 2016 and now I can hardly believe that the series has come to a close. What a wild, wonderful, and wholly unexpected journey this series became and I hope that you’ve enjoyed the characters and chaos just as much.
As with all of my art, there are several thank you’s to be said:
Thank you Jesus for leading me down this path. I owe and offer all to You.
Thank you Mom and Dad for all of your support of my writing, of my unexpected and unpredictable life, and of simply me.
Thank you Andy once again for designing a fantastic cover! This step in the publishing process is always one I look particularly forward to.
Thank you to Sarah and Kaelan for being such massive supporters and readers of this series. You helped me keep going even when it felt like none of it mattered. (Extra thank you to Sarah for all of those days worth of hours over coffee where I talked and talked and brainstormed your ears off and thank you to the Patisserie Cafe for allowing us to monopolize a table from early breakfast to far past lunch each time we met up!)
Thank you reader for choosing to pick up this book and giving it your (hopefully kind) attention. It takes a huge amount of work to write a book and your appreciation makes it all worth it.
I’d also like to add that while I use real state names of the current United States of America, everything in this book is a product of my imagination. This book takes place in a fictional future I created so if any facts used are incorrect then it is either unintentional and I apologize or it is part of the fiction fun.

Thank you
Hello reader! Thank you so much for choosing to read one of my books! After all, what is a book without someone to read the story within? If you enjoyed this book (which I sincerely hope you did) and you would like to help me out then would you please take a couple minutes to leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads? Reviews not only help other readers discover my books, but actually help boost my rankings and, in short, allow me to continue publishing books as a way to afford food to eat. It doesn’t have to be long or fancy, but if you could take a moment to pop online to review I would be wildly grateful. Thank you!
